SPECIAL NOTICE NOVEMBER, 2011: By November 23, the congressional "Super Committee" may consider cutting Medicaid spending as part of their charge to reduce the federal deficit. If you have not already done so, send a letter to your Members of Congress about the need to preserve Medicaid. It is especially important for you to take action if one of your Senators or Representatives is on the Super Committee. Committee members are: Senators Murray (D-WA) (co-chair), Baucus (D-MT), Kerry (D-MA), Kyl (R-AZ), Portman (R-OH) and Toomey (R-PA); and Representatives Hensarling (R-TX) (co-chair), Upton (R-MI), Camp (R-MI), Van Hollen (D-MD), Clyburn (D-SC) and Becerra (D-CA).
