Lifetime Achievement Awards

For the first time in its history, Family Voices hosted a Gala to celebrate the achievements of our organization and to honor the successes of many others.  As part of the Gala, Family Voices recognized the distinguished work of three individuals with presentations of Lifetime Achievement Awards.  These awards were presented to C. Everett Koop, MD, ScD, Merle McPherson, MD, and Thomas J. Family Voices Awards

A highlight of the Family Voices Conference is the presentation of awards recognizing the hard work and dedication of many leaders, partners, volunteers, and organizations.  These awards include:

 

  • The Senator John Chafee Legislative Friend of Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Award presented to Congressman Patrick Kennedy (RI) and Representative Eileen Naughton (RI)
  • The Teamwork Award presented to Wendy Benz, Family Voices of Arizona at Raising Special Kids, Inc.
  • The Mary Clarkson Professional Partner Commitment to Kids Award presented to Pauline Lisciotto, Program Manager, NJ Department of Health & Senior Services' Family Centered Care Program and Bonnie Teman, Coordinator, Special Child Health Services Case Management
  • The Vince Hutchins Angel Award presented to Charles "Charlie" Homer, MD, CEO, National Initiative for Children's Healthcare Quality (NICHQ)
  • The Polly Arango Leadership Award presented to Phyllis Landry-Ratcliff, Family Voices of Louisiana

HRSA Awards

Diana Denboba presented Certificates of Appreciation to Nora Wells, Donene Feist, Joshua Sallach, and Peggy Curran for their assistance in enhancing the data collection and analysis capacity of the Family-To-Family Health Information Centers and Family Voices Network.
