ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The 2011 Family Voices National Conference took place on February 13-15, 2011 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC, in conjunction with the 2011 Annual Conference of the Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP). Both conferences focused on the theme Working Together to Improve Maternal and Child Health. View the Conference program.
The 2011 Family-to-Family Health Information Center Grantees (F2F HIC) Meeting took place on Sunday February 13, 2011 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC.
The Family Voices National Conference provided opportunities for hearing, learning, connecting and networking with not only the wide national network of Family Voices leaders but also the wider population of AMCHP's network of state Title V and MCH leaders and partners from across the country. The Conference featured Family Voices-only events as well as shared events with AMCHP.
The Family Voices and AMCHP co-located conferences were the ideal venues to discuss current critical topics such as health care reform, family-centered care, quality and health information technology. Participants learned about new ideas, research, innovative programming, best practices and effective outreach strategies from family and youth leaders, public health practitioners, researchers, federal officials, advocates, health care providers and directors of state programs.
The conference will provide a wealth of information that will strengthen parent/professional partnerships in every state. Parents and family members, family leaders (including FV State Affiliate Organizations and F2F HICs), and our professional partners (including Title V, health care professionals, and community providers) should all attend!
ABOUT THE GALA
Family Voices and AMCHP hosted a shared celebration honoring Polly Arango and Representative John Dingell (MI), both of whom dedicated their lives to families and children, at the Gala dinner on Monday, February 14, 2011. Read more about the Gala.
