About the Meeting

The Power of Partnerships brought together an energetic group of family leaders from FV State Affiliate Organizations and Family-to-Family Health Information Centers to share their knowledge, experiences, and best practices in helping families of CYSHCN. Family leaders were joined by a stellar cast of national experts to both gain a national perspective and provide the family perspective on children's issues, the disability landscape, upcoming issues in health care, emerging issues and more! Over 120 participants took part in workshops to learn more about:

  • Promoting health and wellness through the ACA
  • Health literacy & helping families navigate health insurance
  • Measuring family engagement: re-envisioning MCH 3.0
  • Partnering to advance health care financing
  • Sustainability
  • Partnering to reach and serve diverse families
  • Policy Advocacy
  • Data – Making an impact
  • Health and wellness best practices
  • Social Media
  • Family-Centered Care
  • Eye Health Resources
  • Rural Families
  • Positioning Family leadership at the state and national levels

The warm and inviting ambience of the meeting space, generously donated by the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery, set the tone for enthusiastic networking and informative, interactive discussions with presenters. Examples of feedback from participants include:

  • “Great sessions, great venue, great networking!”
  • “It was an extremely useful for me to spend time working with and getting to know the other F2F directors and family support professionals.”
