The April, 2012 Family-to-Family Health Information Centers (F2F HICs) Grantee Meeting brought together over 120 individuals from the F2F HICs, the Family Voices National Center for Family and Professional Partnerships (NCFPP), the Maternal Child Health Bureau, and other partners for the purpose of sharing information to help families of CYSHCN. F2F staff facilitated exciting discussions of strategies to improve services and learned about key initiatives and partnership opportunities with other national centers and partners. Several awards were presented, including one given to Becky Shipp, a Health Policy Advisor on the Senate Finance Committee. The award honored Ms. Shipp for her outstanding commitment to improving the health of children with special health care needs and for the critical role she played in establishing federal funding for F2F HICs. F2Fs are closely connected across the country through the Family Voices peer support network. In a few short years, F2F funding has had an enormous impact on developing family leaders who are serving families and actively engaged in improving programs and policies for CYSHCN!
