Families Helping Families - Superstorm Sandy Relief Fund

You can help the families of children and youth with special health care needs and/or disabilities who have been impacted by Hurricane Sandy!

Donate NOW to the Family Voices Families Helping Families Relief Fund to assist families of children and youth with special health care needs affected by Superstorm Sandy.

The Family Voices Donor Campaign – Families Helping Families Relief Fund
We have heard from so many of you wanting to help. In response, Family Voices has begun a campaign to raise funds for direct support to families whose children need special assistance.

Family Voices' State Affiliate Organizations (SAOs) in areas affected by the hurricane are working closely with local relief agencies to help families of children and youth with special health care needs and/or disabilities who have been impacted. The SAOs are led by parents of children with special health care needs, so they understand how critical this assistance is at a time like this.

NOTE: We will be distributing information directly to SAOs about how to apply for these funds through a simple application process that will also be available on the SAO Portal of the Family Voices web site. Funds will be distributed as soon as they are available on a first-come, first-served basis or, until sufficient funds are available, on the basis of the most critical need.

What can you do for these children and their families?
Help provide invaluable aid to these families by making a donation to Family Voices, a tax-exempt organization. Your dollars will be directed from our national office to our State Affiliate Organizations “on the ground” in the affected states—both those hit by the hurricane and those receiving its victims.

We promise that 100% of your donations will go to help families and their children and youth. Your donations will pay for items and services our State Affiliate Organizations have learned are needed— such as powdered milk, canned goods, diapers, other special foods, batteries and flashlights, and medicine.

Our leaders will also help families negotiate the confusing tasks that come with dislocation, such as finding temporary shelter, working with insurance companies, and filling out Medicaid forms. We will update you on our progress through the Family Voices website.
