Tax-related Resources for Assisters and Consumers

Tax-related Resources for Assisters and Consumers

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released a number of tax-related resources at Marketplace.CMS.gov (click the "Technical Resources" link), which can be shared with consumers to help them understand the tax implications of having or not having health coverage during 2015. These resources include two 2-page fact sheets: "How Health Coverage Affects Your Taxes" and "No Health Coverage? What That Means for Your Taxes."

The site also includes shorter "drop-in" articles of the same titles -- "How Health Coverage Affects Your Taxes" and "No Health Coverage in 2015? What That Means for Your Taxes."

If consumers need help with their taxes, they should be directed to: IRS.gov/freefile or IRS.gov/VITA.
