Family Voices Washington DC Update: June 14, 2017
The Washington health care world right now is all about the Senate version of the House-passed bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and cap federal Medicaid spending. The pressure is really on. The Senate Majority Leader would like to hold a vote before the end of this month. A number of Senators are working to craft a health care bill that would pass the Senate, but they are trying to accommodate divergent views and they have only two votes to spare. The pressure is also on for those who oppose such measures, as they fear that the bill will seriously hurt those who rely on Medicaid and people with pre-existing conditions.
