Family Voices Washington DC Update: June 21, 2017
The Washington health care world is still all about the Senate version of the House-passed American Health Care bill, which amends the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and caps federal Medicaid spending. The contents of the Senate bill are still under cover, although it is fairly clear at this point that the Senate bill will, in essence, mirror the House bill. It is not clear when a vote will take place, but leaders are aiming for next week, and despite hurdles to surmount, it is quite possible that the Senate will pass a bill before adjourning for its Independence Day recess.
