Families in Program and Policy (FiPPs)

Description

In 2001 and 2002, Family Voices conducted telephone interviews with Directors of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) programs and Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) programs in each state, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands in order to learn about the roles for families in Title V programs. Directors were asked about: family participation with MCH special initiatives, HP 2010, Block Grants, advisory committees, and employment; impact of family participation; and support to families and family organizations. An internet questionnaire was distributed to Family Voices leaders to learn their perspective on family participation in Title V. Findings will be compared to a similar study of CSHCN Directors conducted in 1991.
